March 6, 2018

Case Study Youth, Peace and Security in Côte d’Ivoire - This participatory analysis of youth’s engagement for peace and security in Côte d’Ivoire reveals that peace and security is a real concern for youths who are significantly engaged for peace despite numerous challenges that complicate their peace initiatives. However, positive examples of recognition and social transformation present valuable recommendations to improve initiatives led by youth and other actors. This study thereby contributes to the Progress Study on Youth, Peace and Security mandated by United Nations Security Council Resolution 2250 (2015) that highlights the positive role of youths in promoting and consolidating peace and security in their respective countries in spite of their lingering reputation as actors of violence.
