The Miisaan: Social Cohesion & Legitimate Governance Through Transitional Justice is a four-year programme (2021-2025), which is funded by the Kingdom of the Netherlands and implemented in Somalia and Somaliland. The Programme is implemented by a Consortium comprised of Interpeace, lead Agency, and in partnership with MediaInk. The programme has also engaged other organisations such as Somali Public Agenda (SPA) and the Institute for Peace and Conflict Studies (IPCS) under the University of Hargeisa in Somaliland. Programme conceptualisation was informed by the fact that transitional justice has never been prioritized in the context of Somalia and Somaliland. The programme places emphasis on supporting local communities develop and pilot transitional justice processes that are best suited to their needs and context.
