Meet Katha Ray, currently working with the Youth, Peace and Security team at Interpeace and a second-year Master’s in International Affairs candidate at Columbia SIPA. Specialising in Human Rights and Humanitarian Policy, with a distinct focus on Gender and International Conflict Resolution, Katha is driven by her deep-seated passion for justice and equality. Originally from Delhi, India, Katha's journey began with her graduation from the University of Delhi in 2021. Since then, she has forged her path as a youth peacebuilder and a diligent researcher,
exploring the intricate intersections of gender, youth-led peacebuilding, and human rights. Her collaborative spirit has led her to work closely with diverse organisations, including The Indian Gender Project, Kaivalya Education Foundation, and the Election Commission of India, among others. Currently, Katha is researching the intersections of Youth, Peace and Security and Women, Peace and Security for Interpeace’s Outside the Box platform, to catalyse their synergies and locate gaps that must be filled in programmatic work in peacebuilding, especially for the holistic inclusion of young women in peacebuilding.
