COP28 Declaration on Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace

15 décembre, 2023

The Declaration on Climate, Relief, Recovery and Peace was launched at COP28, recognizing the inextricable connections between climate change, peace and security. The Declaration has been endorsed by 74 countries and 40 international organisations, which represents a collective commitment to increase investment and actions to drive resilience in countries and communities affected by conflict, fragility and/or humanitarian crisis.

Interpeace firmly endorses the Declaration and believes that the implementation of the Paris Agreement will only be possible if climate action is conflict sensitive. To this end, Interpeace offers a tangible contribution to the package of solutions: a Climate-Security Programming Dashboard, developed in partnership with CGIAR, that provides new frameworks and resources to design climate finance projects in fragile settings.
