Over a year ago, Interpeace and Mirabaud & Cie, banquiers privés, a Geneva-based private bank, launched a partnership which gives people an opportunity to invest in emerging markets, all the while supporting peacebuilding work in conflict-affected countries.

The partnership between Interpeace and Mirabaud is a compelling example of a way in which the private sector can play a role in making the world a safer place. Emerging markets have a strong growth potential, and by generating investments in these markets, the partnership contributes to strengthening and stabilizing them.

“We are pleased that societies affected by conflict will already begin to benefit from this innovative partnership,” commented Scott M. Weber, Director-General of Interpeace. “This positive start confirms that there is a strong will among private investors to support peacebuilding efforts.”

“We look forward to a new year of positive performance and meaningful contributions to a cause we strongly believe in,” said Lionel Aeschlimann, Partner and Head of Mirabaud Asset Management.

Interpeace receives a percentage of the management and performance fees collected through this fund of funds and uses the proceeds to support its peacebuilding programmes around the world.
