Fostering youth dialogue: Bibiss Laafi Batû

In partnership with Fondation Hirondelle, Interpeace is developing a project designed to contribute towards developing mutual understanding and trust among young people in Burkina Faso. Youth are increasingly isolated from, and frustrated by, national decision-making processes; influenced by unbalanced reporting and participation in social and other media; and, affected negatively by the security challenges, including inter-communal conflict, affecting the country and wider Sahel region. The initiative aims to address these challenges by creating spaces for young people to develop mutual understanding, to participate in public debate and to seek fresh and youth-oriented solutions to security challenges principally using radio to do so. This project will be implemented in 7 regions: Ouahigouya (Northern Region), Dori (Sahel Region), Bobo-Dioulasso (Upper Basin Region), Kaya (North Central Region), Fada N ' Gourma (East Region), Gaoua (South West Region) and Ouagadougou (Central Region).
